Ty PenningtonRecent Projects

Sears was looking for a fresh new image that would help the retailer rebound and that could extend to private label brands. Westport brought the hottest star in America to the table, Ty Pennington, host of ABC’s runaway hit “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Ty will appear in TV, print, radio and POS advertising.

This spring, the Ty Pennington sTYle line including bedding, bath and dining products will launch in Sears stores throughout the country. After all, you can’t spell STYLE without TY.

Kelly Ripa
When Georgia Pacific’s Angel Soft brand wanted hot, high profile celebrities for their Angels in Action program, Westport negotiated deals with Kelly Ripa, Jane Kaczmarek and Jennie Garth. The program has been getting national media attention on GMA, FOX, People Magazine, Extra, CNN and many other outlets over the past 5 years.

Pfizer wanted to educate the public about the signs of depression. Finding a celebrity to speak about a sensitive issue is something Westport has successfully done for years. We identified Lorraine Bracco, the star of HBO’s “Sopranos” and help craft a program that includes television commercials, public relations elements and personal appearances. This program will break in spring of 2005.

When Hanes decided to lose the tags on their T-shirts and underwear, Westport assembled a star roster including Mr. T, Yogi Bera, Dick Clark, Alex Rodriguez and Rod Carew to launch this brand, like A-Rod launches baseballs. The result? Major national media coverage and a highly successful advertising program.

Joan LundenDiagio wanted people to learn the art of easy entertaining and who better to give that lesson than celebrity entertainment guru Karen Duffy. Timing there media campaign to coincide with the release of “A Slob in the Kitchen” Duff’s unique outlook on how to entertain resulted in major national media coverage for the Jose Cuervo Authentics line of Diagio products.

Joan Lunden became the first celebrity ever to appear in a national advertising program for a prescription medication when she endorsed Schering Plough’s Claritin brand. Westport identified Joan as an allergy sufferer and put together a program that ran for 4 consecutive years.
